New World Record for Water Pistol Fight in Thailand

Share

Thailand set a new Guinness World Record for water pistol fight as 3,477 people drenched each other in a 10-minute shootout.

Thousands of Thailand people and foreign tourists participated in an event where they were armed with water pistols, faced each other outside one of the biggest shopping centers of Bangkok for a 10 minute shootout.

This event is to celebrate Thailand's Songkran Water Festival. The three-day Songkran (meaning entering the new) festival is celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year's Day from 13 to 15 April.

During festivities, people spray water on each other's faces to symbolise washing away the sins from the old year. The previous largest water fight world record was set in Spain in 2007.
