Two robbers shot, hammered and kicked at glass display cases at a Hawaii jewelry store, but then were forced to flee when they realized the cases were made of bullet-proof glass.
A security video camera showed the men attempting to smash and shoot their way into the display cases. However their attempts were foiled by reinforced glass which refused to shatter despite their efforts.
Later, the men escaped, but a witness noted the license plate number on their getaway car. The car was later determined to have been stolen and was found hours later abandoned and engulfed in flames.
Honolulu police are appealing to the public to help in finding the suspects and published descriptions of them on a crime-stoppers website.
